I'm using the keyword tool as a publisher as opposed to being an adwords client. Basically trying to find keywords that are popular.
In my research, there are certain examples that have a huge difference between broad and exact.
A made up example...[blue widgets] gets 100k per month while "blue widgets" gets 1k.
Now I'm interested in that 99k difference and where they are hiding. Do 40k people search for "blue widgets with springs" for example?
How, using the keyword tool can I find where the difference between broad and exact are hiding?
Also an unrelated question. Adwords seems to hide various broad phrases. For example, I can enter widget. And they'll show:
1000k for widget
300k for blue widget
100k for orange widget
But they absolutely omit yellow widget even though it gets 200k and is only revealed if I query that exact phrase.
Is this a game google plays to stifle internal keyword competiton...because if grey competes with orange and blue...then their CPC goes down?
Is there something about grey that I'm just not seeing?
Is there a way to find these cloaked terms which are obviously very valuable for us publishers/webmasters?
