outloand..you are right about that. Their customer service SUCK*S!
There was this one lady who looked over my websites and tried to tell me I should change the layout of my site. In so many words she tried to say that google didnt like "sales letter style websites".
I told her, "look I have spent millions of dollars TESTING this website, from the font, to the layout to everything else and you are telling me I should change it all?
If I did that, people would NOT buy from me and it would make no since to even use adwords at all!
This woman barely knew English and knew NOTHING about advertising OR sales copy.
I have spent my entire career learning this stuff and she is supposed to represent an ad agency? What a freaking JOKE!
Had I of taken her seriously, I would have gone broke in about 5 minutes.
I told this woman look " there are thousands of websites (sales copy like) in adwords right now. They make up a HUGE chunk of adwords revenue. She tried to tell me "yeah and when we find them they will be shut down.
Now if you think for a minute that this woman knew what she was talking about think again.
She was reading over the policy's with me and GUESSING as to why someone disabled my account. You think she knew? Heck no. Her guess was as good as mine.
But I know. Its because someone looked at my sites and decided..you know what... I dont like this site...and Im having a bad day so I think I will disable it.
How do I know that? Because Ive spent hundreds of thousands promoting this site for 5 years without ANY complaints until now.
It doesnt make any sense. Adwords promotes themselves as an ADVERTISING agency but behaves like a BORG.
What other website agency on EARTH do you know that tries to tell you how to run your business?
The value of the ads they sell rise and fall based on people like ME who are able to compete with other websites writing hard hitting copy.
Without us they would be nothing more than a fart in the wind.
Let me repeat that in another way...websites like mine (that have hard hitting TESTED copy) are what MAKES google's adwords MONEY.
Google's profit and lose rises and FALLS based on how well MY (and other sites) copy outproforms my competitors.
Each time I increase my sales for one of my websites I am increasing the value of adwords.
You think THEY know what their searchers want? "I" Know exactly what their searchers want and I have STACKS of statistics, test results, and proven case studies to prove it!
This obsession to make every landing page look exactly like about.com is insane.
I advertise a business not a freaking non profit organization.
But I will play the game and I will play it well.
