Pardon me for 'recycling' a post I wrote in response to a similar question, Suleman - but it seems as if it might be useful here, by way of expanding on the correct advice from after_hours.

I'm afraid there are far too many variables in play for anyone to give you a 'factual' or meaningful answer to this question. In a sense, it might be thought of as being similar to asking 'exactly how much does a home cooked meal cost?' because the answer really depends on quite a number of factors.
Assuming that you know the keywords on which you'd wish to advertise, you can get a rough estimate of cost per click using the traffic estimator [as mentioned by after-hours.] But it is very important to know that it is simply an estimate.
What it would actually cost per month depends on a great many factors, including these:
* What product or service you wish to advertise
* How competitive that market is - meaning how many other people are advertising for the same thing
* How competitive within your marketplace you wish to be
* How often you want the ads to run - and in what position on the page
* To what parts of the world you'd wish to advertise
* How effectively you have learned and understood the nuances of how the AdWords program works
* How effectively you have set up your account
* How well the account is managed
Those last three points are quite important in my opinion - as AdWords is not a simple system, in large part because it should be thought of as being 'quality based'. By this I mean that the more effectively you set up and manage your AdWords account, the less expensive it is likely to be.
To set reasonable expectations, it is a very rare first time advertiser who starts making a profit from their advertising immediately. Usually, this will take some time, and some money invested. How much time and money it will take is largely dependent upon how much attention is given to both learning the AdWords program and them managing the account once it's running.
If I were to summarize how well AdWords will work for a new advertiser in a very straightforward way, it would be like so:
* Advertisers who expect to very quickly set up their account and then forget about it - and who do not have either the time or interest to really learn how AdWords works - will almost certainly be disappointed in their success.
* Advertisers who make only a moderate effort will likely see moderate success at best.
* Advertisers who take advertising with AdWords very seriously, who spend a substantial amount of time learning the nuances of how it works, and who spend a lot of time managing their account, experimenting, learning from the results of those experiments and then updating their account, tracking their Return on Investment (ROI) using the free tools available from AdWords, etc can find AdWords to be an exceptionally effective way to send highly qualified potential customers to their site while making a tidy profit.
