Just to speak tothis question in a very direct way: Your maximum bid is directly related to your ad's position (also called 'rank') on the page. Raising your max bid tends towards moving your ad up the page - though bid in not the only factor in an rank: quality score is a key factor as well. Daily budget is is directly related to how often your ad will show. But, for example, if your keywords are capable of delivering only 500 impressions per day, and you are are already getting 500 impressions with your current budget, then raising the daily budget will not cause you to get more impressions.
