---- A bidding mistake

I have a problem that maybe someone can help. I've been using adwords for over three years with no problems until last night.

I set up a new campaign and when I do, I usually double checked how much I've set up the bidding at. This morning when I woke up, I saw that I had spent $50 more than I normally spent around that time. I went to check my campaigns and saw that the one I set up last night had a bid of $1 instead of the minimum bid. I quickly paused the campaign, changed the bid then later resume the campaign. I notified adwords and got an explanantion from adwords support that data is not real time that I will see the click activities 3 three hours after I pause it. So I thought $50 isn't too bad.

The campaign still ran at the high click prices, so I paused it indefinately. Even after several hours of pausing the campaign it still kept accumulating to $300. I just deleted the campaign completely to see if that would help. After several emails to adwords, I am awaiting response. Adwords also responded with crediting my account for an amount of $73.

I have never made a mistake of bidding for an amount that is different from what I intended and do not think that I had made this mistake last night. Has anyone experienced something like this that may be attibuted to a computer glitch?

Thanks for your help
