There are going to be a lot of other opinions, but here's mine.

The grey toolbar PR means exactly what Google says, "Current page not ranked by Google."

Now, the possibilities for this are that Google doesn't as yet know that the site exists. Get some good backlinks as soon as possible.

Or, Google knows that it's there but for some reason does not meet its 'quality' requirements (duplicate content, dead end site, cloaking, etc.).

tried it all, still no results

Google only updates once per month (kind of). It sometimes takes two or three update cycles for changes to 'stick'.

If you're doing everyting right, be patient, build more content, get more links. If there is or was anything questionable get it changed quick and then...be patient.

Not the best answer, just my 2 cents.
