You don't have elegant options if you want to use different word variations to describe the same thing - particularly if the variations return different SERPs and have a reasonable degree of competition.

There are a few techniques that may be worth a look:

- Obtain links that use the variations
- Use the variations in a way that is natural within the copy (e.g. "Webmasterworld, web master world or webmasterworld - call it what you will, but it's still the premier forum for webmasters)
- Write more content, and get authors to use one specific variation in their copy
