Well, the term used by the hosting provider is "a pointer site." In any event the questioned was answered by Yahoo Faqs, which thinks little of the idea.

So I unpointed the xyz domain and will create a simple version of abc.com, with a link to abc for visitors who want the big picture.

This way, I have to unique sites that accomplish the purpose.
