It was a simple instruction.
The simple answer would have been "http://example.com".
That's the URL right? No trailing slash? No index file name? That's what I was looking for.
The correct format is "http//example.com/" with a trailing slash.
What do you get for these two Google searches?
site:example.com -inurl:www
site:www.example.com
Does one list a load of pages and the other lists nothing? Or do they both list something?
