It is not uncommon for people to have many domains that point to the same content. The problem is that Google will only recognize one of them. If you make 1000 other domains that are each different and have them point to your site that is ok. The problem is that there is no real benefit to that unless you advertise the domains outside of Google. It is best to have one site and focus on getting lots of links so you can rank. It is very possible to take most or all the top 10 for a search but that is risky. Google could do a hand penalty if they get too many complaints. It would be a good idea to make 2 or 3 and try to get them all ranked on the first page. Just make sure they are very different and could pass a hand inspection.
