I am just beginning to track my site's search engine rankings on various keywords with automated software. The software defaults at checking the top 100 results. However, this is time consuming and I am not sure of the practical benefit of having my site rank at #42 or #78 or #99, etc, as I assume that most of the clicks go to sites in the top 10, fewer to 11-20, fewer still 21-30, until the traffic is so small as to be irrelevant.

Does anyone have any data on this or can anyone make an experience-based suggestion on how many results to check?
