In todays environment WPG will not help you at all for rankings. It is useful for producing ranking reports, but don't include Google or Yahoo engines, get those positions from AOL which does not seem to mind you hammering it for automated queries. It has been long known Google will ban your IP for automated queries, I got one PC banned from Yahoo (for 24 hours) last month for the same thing.

LOL..your brain is the cheapest and best form of keyword generation. Don't bother looking for software in this area. From experience when you start out don't aim at the primary keywords. Aim at the lesser used keywords and lots (thousands) of them. In my marketplace the primary keyphrase accounts for less than 3% of all SE traffic (and I have #1 site for it), the other 97% comes from all sorts of weird and wonderful expressions! Nevermind the quality feel the width! Not understanding this is the single biggest mistake in SEO!

I don't do affiliate marketing much, I make a couple of $thousand per month from the dabbling I do, but I don't recommend you concentrate in this area. If there are affiliate programmes that compliment your sites then give them a shot. In my experience you need about 100,000 page views offering up affiliate marketing for every $100 you make.
