Secondarily, if there are any industry standards for formatting the IPTC data one puts in a file (country first, then state, then city; or vice versa) I'd be glad to know. I'd hate to enter all the data, try to share it with a service of some kind, and be told it was all listed backwards (or some strange thing like that).
I think I've asked this question before, but I continue to find this a frustrating topic. My collection of digital photos has gotten out of hand, and I need a *simple* database system to find things in it. What I'd like to do is be able to store IPTC information *in the image files* and just search for things by caption, keyword, etc. (I know, entering all that in the first place is going to be rough.) I tried iPhoto and it drove me crazy. I tried iView MediaPro and it was so counterintuitive I could never get it to work. I've just started testing something called QPict, which actually seems pretty good so far. Does anyone have any positive or negative experience with it?
