who needs a reader? yeah right, the industy has accustomed us to the "cool" 16:10 or whatever widescreen displays derived from cinema and tv. till people realized, that apart from watching movie on your cute little notebook (which nobody does) it absolutely makes no sense at all to have a widescreen on that small device.
so readers fulfill the contrary trend. you can actually read (yeah, that's what you normally do on your computer) better on an upend display, what a surprise.
luckily i got one of the last 4:3 displays back in 2007 on my x61s, before all plants around the world abandoned their production, because wider screen means less screen = less production costs.
but yes, if you only have a widescreen available on your netbook you could indeed be in need of a reader.. 1024x768 vs 1024x600 is a critical difference in screen size = scrolling effort.
by the way, im writing these lines lying on my couch, the notebook lying in front of me. try that with an ipad.
