I'm running a G5 powerPC, OS X Tiger and I trying to get my Epson 1290 printer to print out of Quark 8.01. When I go to 'Print' the 1290 is showing at the top of the print dialogue box, but I can't get it to come up in the Device area. All that is showing is 'Generic Colour Printer'. Problem is I can't seem to find an Epson 1290 PPD! The Epson site seems to point to a printer driver but just seems to contain the utility for monitoring ink usage. I thing (Mac's are not my strong point) I need to find a suitable file to go somewhere like 'Library / Printers'. Then I think I can get this to show up in Quark's Device area and get a decent print. In an older G4 we are using an Epson Postscript RIP, which gives fantastic print quality and colour reproduction but I don't think this is available for OS X. Can anybody assist please - particularly with a PPD for the Epson 1290? Many thanks
