The problem for anyone who uses it is that whatever sites Google returns will have a high likelihood of not displaying properly or causing the browser to hang - it was once the best browser available, but that was a long time ago. As the article notes, there are no decent browsers for OS9 now - as far as I am aware it can only run IE5, Mozilla 1.1, Netscape 7, Opera 6 and iCab 3, all of which are unsatisfactory for the modern web (Mozilla seems to work best, but the makers themselves advise against using it). Anyone using IE5 on OSX should have noticed by now that the internet is broken...
I find it fascinating (and admirable) that Google is still addressing problems with IE5 Mac in June 2007 - I thought I was the last person on the planet who specifically supported it, and I stopped earlier this year.
