I agree with daveVk on this..

Your name server settings are usually controlled from within your domain control panel at your registrar (not web host, unless you use the same company for hosting and domains) You will have two name server entries, typically these entries will be called NS1 and NS2. These should both be pointed to the ip address of your hosting server.

Your name servers should never be on the same physical server as your web server.
