Getting back to the original post--
I see two options, either learn HTML throughly from scratch, or find some type of HTML editor that can be toggled back and forth from the source code to editor so that I can use it and then reverse-engineer what it did.
Sounds to me as if you've decided you want to learn HTML thoroughly, so that's not the issue. It's how best to learn it. Depends on your personal learning style. I tend to learn best by putzing around with something, so the toggling back and forth would be my choice -- but you may learn in a totally different way. If you learn better with a more structured approach, the learning thoroughly from scratch is probably the better way to go.
