Copying and pasting into the new template is the only way it is working at this point. Using the "Apply template" feature or the "Update pages..." feature in DW is where the problem occurs. Not being able to use these features creates a bottleneck for me as I have hundreds of pages to update and at this rate it looks as though it might be a long road ahead...
