hi, i guess this belongs in this category.

I write articles in MS Word and i html code them for a credit link. However, Word seems to give a different type of quotation marks (parenthesis) that isn'y html compatible. Is to say that when the text is copied and pasted from Word doc into html doc, the quotation makrs dont act as part of the html tag, they come out as something decorative. As a result links dont work and i have to chase the publishers who then tell me its my fault, which is very embarassing.

I was under impression that if a word doc is saved as .rtf, the special characters, like ", come out as html compatible, and im pretty sure it worked in the past, but not on this run. I dont want to save it as .txt as that is just way too basic and makes it unappealing for editors. Is there any other option?
