Since this is turning into a "favorite HTML editor" post, I'll weigh in heavily in favor of Dreamweaver and DW UltraDev.

But like Tedster I too work with a browser open to get live feedback. By the time I put in all the ASP tags and If's Then's Else if's etc., my Dreamweaver edit page is a mess.

But for bare bones text editing, including HTML, JS, ASP, etc. etc. etc., nothing in my opinion beats or comes close to TEXT PAD (www.textpad.com).

This is a free download, and they'll occasionally invite you to buy it. I did, and it was the best $27 for software I ever spent.
