So people had webOS by Palm which was superior to Android and more user friendly than iOS and people are actually talking about getting an open source alternative to Android?

I don't get people. webOS is open, was easy to change. It's now open source, has actually been tested on real tablets and phones since 2009, has apps developed for it, runs Linux, is based on Web technologies and people still think that Firefox OS which is still vaporware is something to consider? I mean people who want an alternative open OS now just have to go on Ebay and get an unlocked webOS phone for about $200 if they so desperately want to move from Google, Apple and Microsoft.
