We have been using a large South African SMS gateway service for a decade to interface with our web-based helpdesk program, and in recent times they have had to discontinue certain of their products that SMS into the US because of spamming type issues.
So what we need to do now is find out how we can re-establish this feature of our product, with as little cost to us. It seems that the 'short code' requirement in the US could be a major stumbling block for us as it seems as it is pretty expensive.
Is there anyone who can point us to some solutions/providers?
We had previously been using SMPT e-mail-to-SMS as the method i.e. our program would e-mail the gateway provider and that would trigger the SMS.
If we have to, we think we could reconfiger the coding to do the HTTP Get thing....
