Consumer Reports (a pretty reputable consumer testing company) could not reproduce any antenna problems in their testing. They recommend the phone.
That's probably because they follow Jobs instructions and put the phone in a paper bag and swing it over their head while screaming like a chicken, supposedly getting the best signal strength available :)
Seriously though, the sheer number of people reporting the problem can't be wrong can they?
Plus, we can always trust consumer reports (toyota) can't we, right?
