They're a call centre in India, and they seem to be there 24 hours a day
It shouldn't be like this though - I'm tempted to return the Belkin card and get one that works off the bat.
I think you're being a bit unfair to Belkin and that you'd hit the same problems whatever hardware you installed. There are a number of different settings that are used for wireless networking and it's not easy for us mere mortals to work out what's wrong. My latest frustration with a wireless network was just this week. Spent several hours banging my head against a brick wall and then it still took 2 calls (about 1.5 hours) to Belkin to get it working. My network card recognised that the router was transmitting, it just wouldn't receive any data. Turned out that there was interference on the radio channel that the Belkin hardware was preset to. Once we changed the router and card software to use a different channel it worked perfectly.
