ogletree - 9:05 pm on Dec 5, 2003 (gmt 0) I just ordered a SD card camera for the Dell. I will let yall know how that turns out.
Well I just got the GPS and software in and have been having a ball. The brand on the GPS card is ACEENA. It is much bigger than a CF wireless card. It sticks out about 3 inches. Of course it does not work inside. It also did not seem to work from my office window. In the car you have to set it on the dash for a few minutes for it to triangulate from the satellites. Once it did that I could hold it closer to me as long as I had it pointed to the side window at the slightest of angles. It works just like the map program in most cars I have seen. It follows you where you are tells you your speed and altitude. By default it does not come with any maps you have to set up a map on your pc and copy it over to the pocket pc. I did pretty much the whole metro area of Houston and it was 10MB. The best part of this thing is that it shows you businesses on the map. I am legally blind and don't get to see much out the window so it opened a whole new world to me. I had not idea how many McDonalds I passed on the way to work. (I ride in with a coworker). It has a place for an external antenna. I plan to get a suction cup antenna so I can lean back when in the car.
