I don't know if this is by law or just the preference of the law firm, but the attorney I spoke with indicated they do this type work on strictly an hourly basis, not for contingency fees. There's a lot we could discuss about that arrangement, both pro and con, and I don't want to get into detail about it here, but I left with the understanding that they would not only seek statutory damges and maybe actual damages from an offender, but also attorney fees.
