AND I completely understand about the secret society of unix. And yes, they do snicker. They are not nice and basically believe you unworthy until you prove you can remember all those cryptic commands by trial and error. Error usually means you have completely destroyed several hard drives worth of data.

I have finally figured out that all unix command names came to be from a set of inside jokes. And nobody outside the unix circle knows what the jokes are until they have had to memorize the commands the hard way and use them for at least a couple of years.

I am sure of it.
