Thanks for the response. I have always had my FTP users as part of /etc/passwd. Is this not correct? I have not seen a way to generate FTP accounts for ProFTPd other than "adduser", which places them in /etc/passwd. I am still somewhat new to linux, but everything I have found points to doing it this way, and it worked previous to our domain switch.
