Wow, this is my first post in this forum. Hi everybody!

I lost my Linux virginity tonight. Got meself a 2nd hand lenovo Thinkpad, and installed Ubuntu.

I've spent most of the evening getting acclimatized. I like the sproingy windows that wobble when I move them. I think that'll be cool for at least a few days.

Now I need a really good text editor.
On Windows, I was using "e" editor, which is a clone of TextMate on Mac.

Is there a comparible editor for 'nix?

features I need:
- open & save remote files, via FTP
- tabbed
- code colorization
- easy tabbing
- nice code formatting
