The fa82537ep uses an Intel chip-set as far as I remember, but Intel doesn't provide generic drivers anymore for their modem chip-sets for several years. You should be able to find Linux drivers on the modem manufacturers site of the modem or on the site of the computer manufacturer if the modem is embedded on the motherboard. Unfortunately many hardware vendors only provide readily installable drivers for RedHat and Suse distributions of Linux, not for Mandriva.
If you are not afraid of compiling your own driver, you could download one of the generic source code distributions for the Intel 537ep modem linux driver, which can be easily found via Google.
