Time is the key. I am now four months into my linux learning curve. I started with a dual boot system and with in thirty days reinstalled with just Linux. My best guess is that it will take me 8 months to a year to get a grip. As Duckla stated each time you do something new it takes extra time and for me in most cases it was days.

One of the things that slowed me down were some hardware issues. I spent two weeks trying to figure out why my machine was crashing. Finally realized it was a nic card that was not compatable.

Which ever way you go ...
It is worth it!
