My suggestion is to find a old 386 somewhere and to load a linux distro on it. Any old PC will do :) If you are just looking to try out all the commands and get the feel of the unix interface there are many of companies who offer shell accounts, that is you ssh or telnet remotely into their server and issue unix commands as if you were in front of the terminal.
