I have no doubt that Linux currently occupies less than 5% of the desktops right now. It could even be sub 1%. That said, that is the silliest article I have ever read. The Hitbox tracking code is javascript based, many *nix users surf in browsers with simple text based browsers, and a good many who use fully graphical browsers disable javascript. I would guess that less than 40% of Linux users surf with javascript enabled.
You mean to tell me that Linux isn't as popular as windows for the desktop? ;)
