Almost unnoticed by the public ATW has started to display Espotting results, marked as sponsored listings, on top of the serps.
Sponsored results, aka PPC listings, have been in place for a long time.
The agreement, under which Overture listings were displayed was between Lycos and Fast. Lycos.com, the US divison of the Terra Lcos network, is in charge of monetizing ATW, and so they just extended the partnership with OV to include ATW - but only for queries from the US.
Now Europeans also get PPC results - from Espotting.
In difference to Google, where ads are served according to language setting, ATW does pure IP targeting.
