I despair at what's listed in some of my reports. Wacky invented non-existant junk URLs abound. Likewise corrupted and truncated URLs.
One of the 404 errors is for
/$1 and which I now believe to be yet another fruitful visit to one of the JS files by Googlebot. However, I spent many hours suspecting that the htaccess had gone wrong in some way and was now redirecting Google to the literal
example.com/$1 URL for some requests.
