Have noticed several times when doing social media site posts and looking at my referral log stats there is something odd in that about 80% of the visits to my links are from: compute-1.amazonaws.com

For example, with my latest posts (on much different subjects) there were about 50 visitors to my 2 linked sites within 5 minutes of the posts, with about 40 site visitors from that same referral source.

I realize amazonaws is a popular service but I am sure is not so common that it's normally the primary referral source of traffic.

Does anyone know how this may be happening or take a guess how it's possible?
