Yes, I understand all that. What I don't understand is how my jQueryUI theme set came with indexed .png images that show semi-transparency on the web, and when I open them in GIMP and switch to RGB mode, the semi-transparency is there (which isn't the case when I save the indexed .png myself).

Somehow, they figured out a way to store the semi-transparency info in the indexed file. Just thought someone here might know how.
