The images quality and compression is not just miles ahead of most other things, but it also allows you to do basically anything else you are able to do in photoshop and add that to the batch.
None of these batch image converters even come close to photoshop. Sure photoshop isn't the easiest or quickest to setup, but once you have done it a few times its second nature.
