Recently our site got hacked and a rogue file was placed (trapdoor.php) on the server. Consequently, this page got indexed thousands of times with random key words. This has caused our number of visitors from Yahoo to drop significantly.
I have used Site Explorer to delete this URL from the listings, I have also secured the site from future attacks and deleted the file itself.
Is there anything else I need to do to get our Yahoo ranking back as it was? We do not carry out any black hat techniques to boost our rankings.
Also, do you know what the point of this file was? I don't understand how the hacker would benefit from this unless they were a competitor?
Thank you in advance for any help.
