Maybe I'm hanging out with too many conspiracy theorists, but I don't list my sites in the Yahoo Directory. The only people I can imagine getting listed these days are folks doing SEO. Johnny average has never heard of the Yahoo directory, and most folks don't find that they drive $300 worth of business. So why list? SEO purposes only. And there we have a footprint.

I appreciate that perhaps the directory passes some trust right now, but I'm not so sure that the SE's won't use it in the future as an easy way to sort out people doing SEO. That's a bit paranoid perhaps - but given how much things have changed in the last year or so, I wouldn't rule anything out.
