When Google bans a site, it's out of the index and for anyone searching for your domain name in Google, it does not exist. The point in the way Yahoo does it is that while your site may be banned, it doesn't mean it no longer exists. It still exists and for someone searching for your site Yahoo will return it. Make sense? It was suggested, I'm pretty sure, to Yahoo by one of the WebmasterWorld mods.
why do they leave the home page in the index, what’s the point of that?
