---- Linking to a banned by Yahoo site

Hi TicToc,

An encrypted link, a link stored in an external JavaScript file, and links that call a php file previous to taking a visitor off site are not links a SE can/will follow.

Putting the link inside of an external JS file with a 'onclick location' etc. will make it so a SE cannot/will not (for the most part) follow the link.

Sites that use a php file to manage links (EG when you mouse over the link anchor and get /links/site.php?location=id145) are (for the most part) not using links that are followed by SE's

An encrypted link is the same nature as the JS link, except it resides on the page, and will not be followed by SE's. (With Google, this one is easy, you do not have to encrypt it even all you have to do is add an?ID=1322MORESTUFFHERE to the end of the link, because G does not follow links with ID query strings in them, so you can safely links about anywhere and know it will not be followed by G)

Like I said in my second post the simple yes/no answer is NO, do not link to the site, because there is a good chance you may be penalized/filtered/dropped in ranking for linking to a site that Y! deems unacceptable. I have not seen where this results in the site linking to it being banned, but it may impact search results.

That is why I asked the first two questions in the longer answer of my second post - if the site is solid, and can take a small hit, you might get away with it. If not do not put the link on, until the site you are linking to has been re-added to the index.
