As far as too much affiliate content, you are also off target there too. It's not that it's affiliate content that is the issue, it's just that the content is crap. By crap I mean that it is not original content, i.e. it's just a FEED... or worse. It makes me cringe everytime someone posts asking why Slurp doesn't like their new website, because the post usually starts like this: "I uploaded 5,000 web pages two weeks ago, Slurp came around, but I don't see any of the pages in the results Is Slurp broken?" Gimme a break. Any decent search engine is going to filter your five thousand pages of duplicate non-informational content and make sure it never sees the light of day. Of course, to every rule there is always an exception.
I wouldn't say "Keyword spamming" is a reason for getting banned. I almost choked on my breakfast cereal reading that. Woo hoo.
