I don't think crosslinking was your problem. I noticed a pattern with the sites that got dropped. All of them have many links from sites that use there exact title tag to link to them. These are usually sites like directories or sites that show search results. In my case doing a search for my exact title(s) (I have many sites affected) shows these linking sites first then the last results are my sites. I recommend that you do a similar test.
I think the problem is growing and I hope that Yahoo does something soon or there will be no index left.
