Page is a not externally linkable

I did try emailing months ago for a review and received a cryptic message back inferring that I was up to trickery. The index page did come back but nothing else in the regular search index. It took me awhile to figure it out but I believe it may be that my site was very heavily linked internally - all pages crossed to all the other pages within the site - many not relevant to the other. It's the only thing I can see that caused a removal from the index. I should also mention I have a number of pages that were chosen by Yahoo over the last 5 years that are listed in the directory. I also did pay for fast Inktomi inclusion for a few pages in days gone by.
Does the spidering play the descisive roll into paving your way back into Yahoo or must it be human intervention? In other words does one have to contact Yahoo on a personal level to be reincluded or is the process more automated?
