That is normal but you could do a lot better. It is important to get get some links at the beginning. Start off by finding some good directories in your area. Try searching for a keyword you are targeting plus the word directory. There is nothing wrong with submitting to several hundred directories. After that start working on getting other non directory sites to link to you. Go visit our Link Development forum [webmasterworld.com] and check out the conversations and read the library.
