G got the all the worlds webmasters to promote them because they allowed all the worlds webmasters in to adsense ..

IMO ..the rise of G worldwide was in large part due to webmasters saying to everybody they knew that G was the SE to use ..because more eyes meant more revenue for all..

Yahoo made their system so US centric that the rest of the world's "publishers" have no interest in promoting you ..MS made the same mistake ..

You want to be "contenders" ..you need the Goodwill of those outside the USA ...involve us within 12 months ..or stay an exclusive USA club ..

Yes Yahoo spent money recently on TV ads in Europe ..Nobody here cared ..nobody recommended you to anyone ..why would we ..

I did an ad hoc survey here at the entrance of my local supermarket here ..following a thread in which I had said that Yahoo was way too USA centric ..( and the mod said I was wrong ) ..I stopped people and asked who had internet ..of those who replied that they did ( I kept going to 100 )..only 2% knew that yahoo was a search engine .. none had ever used Yahoo and only 5 had used MSN ..the rest used either their French ISP's portal ..or G (85% ) recommended to them by friends who translated "know about the internet" ..
