---- Does Yahoo Change Your Ad Copy?

I had this same situation at my last job. I wrote specific copy and submitted. I checked back a day or so later only to see the copy was completely different from what I wrote. Not only did this new copy make no sense but it was grammatically incorrect. I am in a good mood today, so I won't write anything mean about what I think about the people who actually wrote it.

I called Yahoo up and asked why. they said that it was because the copy submitted by me did not follow their editorial guidelines so they made some adjustments. I couldn't believe they did this without my permission. not only that but I was baffled because I had submitted the same exact copy a few days earlier on some other ads and it was approved exactly as I submitted it. They blamed it on different people reviewing the copy (great excuse). I told them that from then on if they had a problem with the copy to either let me know or just decline it. They agreed to this.

I think in the end they should not touch a clients copy without the permission of the client. if they have an issue they should let the client know or just decline it. I do not mind if they make suggestions but do not change my copy without my knowledge.
