comment #1 is probably right on the mark. :) That's not the first time we've seen this.

If I have the reports straight, Terra was just selling off the Lycos part of the operations. This was the SE and portal. I assume that includes communities and all the online peripherals that were there before Terra entered the scene.

The Lycos Korea deal was a few years ago. Did they retain any of the Lycos name or branding other than the URL?

You may be on to something here. What you've said makes a lot more sense than all those articles. It would make a better story if Daum were buying themselves into that cybercafe market (cyworld) or taking out a competitor.
